Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 6 is set to revolutionize real-time language translation with a smart use of its cover screen. Recent leaks have revealed that One UI 6.1.1 will introduce an improved Interpreter Mode, making conversations in different languages more seamless.
One UI 6.1.1 Optimizes Interpreter Mode for Foldable Phones
According to marketing images shared by Evan Blass (@evleaks), the Galaxy Z Flip 6 Interpreter Mode will display translated text on the cover screen. This allows both the phone’s user and the person they are conversing with to read translations instantly.
Samsung’s approach mirrors a feature previously introduced by Google for the Pixel Fold.
How Galaxy Z Flip 6 Improves Real-Time Translations

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 already includes Interpreter Mode with a 3.4-inch cover screen.
The new One UI 6.1.1 update could also bring these features to the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and potentially the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Google first revealed a similar feature for the Pixel Fold, and Samsung seems to have copied it, and we won’t mind as users. This feature can be really helpful for someone who is traveling to a different city or country where people speak a different language.
This feature will only work in Flex Mode, though, so you have to fold the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s screen halfway to activate the cover screen.
The story continues after the video below that shows how the Interpreter Mode works.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 will launch with One UI 6.1.1, and Samsung is likely to roll out the updated Interpreter Mode to older models a few weeks later. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is also expected to support this improved translation feature.
