Galaxy Z Flip 6 makes smart use of cover screen for language translation

Earlier today, detailed Galaxy Z Flip 6 specifications were leaked. Presently, some more features of the upcoming foldable phone have been leaked, revealing another feature that uses the cover screen intelligently during language translation.

One UI 6.1.1 uses Galaxy Z Flip 6’s cover screen intelligently for language translation

Thanks to the marketing images of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 posted by Evan Blass (@evleaks), it has been revealed that Samsung has further developed the Interpreter Mode for foldable phones. In the image below, you can see that the translated text is also visible on the cover screen, making it easier to see for the person conversing with the phone’s user. A similar feature will likely be available for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 as well.

Google first revealed a similar feature for the Pixel Fold, and Samsung seems to have copied it, and we won’t mind as users. This feature can be really helpful for someone who is traveling to a different city or country where people speak a different language. This feature will only work in Flex Mode, though, so you have to fold the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s screen halfway to activate the cover screen.

The story continues after the video below that shows how the Interpreter Mode works.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 already has the Interpreter Mode and a Z Flip 6-like 3.4-inch cover screen. So, it is likely that Samsung will release the superior Interpreter Mode with Flex Mode optimizations to the Galaxy Z Flip 5 with the One UI 6.1.1 update. The update may be released a couple of weeks after the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 6.

This feature could also be released to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 with a future software update. Please continue to check our website for more news related to the feature.
